aNm’s Michael Sheyahshe Writes Comics About Court for Indigenous Youth

While this has been difficult year, worldwide, we’re delighted to celebrate something positive in 2020.

Comic book writer, Michael Sheyahshe.AHComics selected aNm founder, Michael Sheyahshe – along with Dr. Lee Francis IV, owner of Red Planet Books & Comics – to author several special comic books focused on helping Indigenous youth better understand the various federal and tribal court systems.

In a Kickstarter update earlier in 2020, AHComics writes:

We are honoured and enthralled to be working with the Center for Court Innovation, New York, on a series of graphic novels for Indigenous youth who find themselves in the court system. These books will be created to educate, guide and empower children who have been victims of or witnesses to crime within and without their tribal community.

From the MOONSHOT Collection, editor and author Michael Sheyahshe is on board this project with AH and the CFCI, as is MOONSHOT author Lee Francis IV, Ph.D., – also serving as editor and author. MOONSHOT artists David Cutler and Kyle Charles will be illustrating.

The books for this project will not be made available publicly or for sale. They are being created exclusively for and will be given to Indigenous youth and children as positive materials to help them through the criminal justice system.
