It’s been a busy first few months of 2017 for aNm…but, a good busy.
I had the honor of presenting a session at the eLearning Guild’s Learning Solutions Conference 2017 in Orlando, FL about, “Create VR on a Shoestring Budget”. LSCon was fantastic and it was good to see old friends and make some new ones.
To promote my VR talk, I created a video for the conference’s YouTube channel. Inspired by the innovation VR represents, I decided to make a 360-degree video, which can be viewed by a VR viewer or by YouTube’s own 360-handler.
You can view this video below – be sure to use the YouTube app, if you are on a mobile device, to fully explore the view.
I outline my creation process to make a 360 video with Blender on my ‘eDev Stuff’ blog – http://edeveloperstuff.blogspot.com/2017/03/360-youtube-video-made-with-blender.html.
My VR presentation at LSCon was well-attended and there was good discussion as well as interesting questions, despite the early morning session (8:30am).
Attendees to the session also got a big surprise, as 10 lucky individuals walked away with a free VR viewer, courtesy of aNm.
My presentation topic, VR, was an important one at Learning Solutions. Tracy Parish gives a great report on LSCon’s Day 3 trends on her “Discovery Through Elearning” blog, http://www.tracyparish.ca/2017/03/lscon-2017-twitter-trends-day-3.html. Out of the 240 tweets with #LSCon, “vr” made the top of the list for hashtags.
Additionally, I was invited to give a presentation for iSpring on “How to Choose an Authoring Tool: Essential Checklist” on the Tools & Tech Learning Stage, inside the main exhibition hall. Audience members were then given a special link to a survey that outlined all of the information given in the talk. This survey allows individuals to answer questions on what they are looking for in an eLearning authoring tool, then obtain a copy of their answers by email.
This free checklist is available on iSpring Cloud at https://ispri.ng/x8JKV.
As if this wasn’t enough, I gave two online webinars hosted by iSpring.
The first was on “VR Made Easy” and can be seen here:
And another encore presentation on “How to Choose an Authoring Tool”, which can be seen here:
More good news coming soon! Stay tuned…
